How much does liposuction cost?
The cost of liposuction starts at $6300. This fee includes the hospital, plastic surgeon fee, anesthesia, all your follow up visits and compression garment. Prices for liposuction can vary depending on the area that is being performed. The most common area is abdominal wall, flanks, sides and back. This procedure is commonly called lipo 360. How the procedure works. Liposuction is an outpatient procedure and is performed using general anesthesia. Your plastic surgeon will make one small incision near the treatment areas. A cannula, or thin tube, is inserted through these incisions to loosen excess fat beneath the skin. Then, the fat is suctioned out. The entire procedure can take under an hour or up to 2 hours or longer, depending on the number of areas treated. Recovery from liposuction. Patients should expect their recovery from liposuction to take one to two weeks. Once the procedure is complete, a compression garment will be placed over the treated area. This will need to be worn for at least two weeks after surgery, to control swelling and promote healing. Temporary bruising, swelling, soreness, burning sensations, and numbness may occur. These should completely resolve on their own, over a period of a few months. Patients are generally feeling well enough to return to work within a week or less. Physical activity should be postponed for four weeks. We offer a complimentary cosmetic consultation with our plastic surgeon to see if liposuction is right for you.
