Tattoo Removal

tattoo removal
Nowadays, there are a growing number of people that are choosing to have their tattoos removed. Tattoos may be removed for a variety of reasons. Some find that tattoos bring back unwanted memories of the past. Others find that tattoos may be detrimental to their health and eventually cause skin cancer or some type of skin disease. Career concerns, bad artwork or art placement, changing lifestyle or personal taste are just a few of the reasons that people decide to remove their tattoos. Studies have shown that approximately 10% of Americans have some kind of tattoo and of that percentage, 50% want them removed.

Our practice uses the Pico Laser for tattoo removal. This laser treatment uses ultra-short laser pulses to break down pigmentation and stimulate collagen for skin rejuvenation. This technology delivers energy in a picosecond, which creates a photothermal effect with less heat damage to the surrounding tissue, making it a safe and effective option for tattoo removal.

There is a little discomfort and is compared to a rubber band snap. Depending on the size of the tattoo and condition of skin, a treatment can take from 10 to 30 minutes, and may require several treatments spaced at 6 to 8 weeks apart.
